All about LED and more....
Why should I choose LED lighting?
First, simply because traditional incandescent and HPS bulbs have not been allowed to be marketed for years. In recent years there has been much innovation in the various LED products and they are available in many color temperatures, wattages and designs.
What are the advantages of LED lamps over traditional lighting?
The advantages of LED lighting at a glance:
What is LED anyway?
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, in Dutch: light-emitting diode. In short, it is an electronic light source that does not use combustion (like a light bulb).
A LED lamp is based on the technology of an electronic part that starts to light up by the flow of a light or weak current. By bundling these closely together and reinforcing them with a few miniature mirrors or otherwise, a real energy-saving alternative to classic light bulbs can be obtained. Not only do they consume up to eight times less energy than ordinary, classic lamps, but they also emit at least the same intensity of light. It is therefore self-evident that these will represent a significant saving on your energy bill.
The average payback time for LED lamps is 1 to 2 years.
What is the lifespan?
The LED products have a lifespan of up to approximately 100,000 burning hours. Compare a classic light bulb only lasts 1,000 burning hours and an energy-saving lamp 6,000 burning hours.
How is the quality?
Quality is a comprehensive concept for us. It is not only about the purely technical quality of LED products, but also about matters such as service and reliability.
All the products recommended by us meet the highest quality requirements and have undergone a strict quality test before we offer them.
We advise LED lamps from TOP suppliers so that we can always offer a perfectly suitable solution with the best quality LED fluorescent lighting.
The price you pay for the LED lamp will be recovered in 2 years due to the savings on your energy bill. In addition, you save on the purchase of replacement lamps due to the much longer lifespan.
What is the payback period for LED lighting?
LED lighting provides a saving of € 4.00 per m2 of business area.
Replacement and maintenance
The replacement and maintenance costs of older lighting are € 2.50 per m2 per year.
The replacement costs of LED lamps are € 1.00 per m2 per year.
Investment
The investment for LED lighting is on average € 5.00 per m2.
Payback period
The payback period for LED lighting is usually within 2 years.
What else should I think about if I want to switch?
LED lamps hardly wear out with use. This means you have to replace your lamps much less often and you save on the costs of maintaining your lighting. You no longer have to regularly screw in a new lamp in hard-to-reach or high places.
Due to the low heat development in the LED lamp, you will never again be bothered by the lamp burning yourself (or your child). In addition, there is no risk of fire and you save on the costs of the air conditioning.
The LED lamp does not need a warm-up time, it only takes a fraction of a second before the lamp gives full light output.
Is LED lighting usable under all conditions?
In general, LED floodlights and e.g. LED lamppost fixtures can be used with an air temperature between -40 degrees Celsius and +40 degrees Celsius. Direct sunlight on a fixture can cause much higher temperatures. As a result, outdoor lighting should be fitted with a circuit to prevent overheating. Think of an astro clock or daylight sensor. The warranty on outdoor lighting lapses if the customer has failed to take precautions against overheating due to direct sunlight or if fixtures are set up with an ambient temperature higher than +40 degrees Celsius.
Is LED lighting good for the environment?
Because there is virtually no heat generation with LED lighting, and because of the favorable energy consumption, CO2 emissions can be reduced. Many materials of LED lights are recyclable. To support the circular economy, Vocare has joined St.OPEN. This foundation provides nationwide collection, sorting and processing of discarded appliances, lamps and batteries. Vocare pays an annual contribution for the recycling of these LED luminaires, based on the amount put on the market.
